Royal Navy aptitude test practice

The Royal Navy aptitude test is the Defence Aptitude Assessment. It is six timed, multiple-choice sections. The score you need depends on the profession and the specialisation.

  • After you apply, the link arrives in your candidate portal and stays open for 14 days. You choose when to start. Once you start, you finish it in one sitting. You can take it at home, or at an Armed Forces Careers Office.
  • The Navy says it is fine to practise on your phone. The real assessment needs a screen of at least 10.2 inches. The questions here follow the same six sections, under the same clocks.
