Royal Marines aptitude test practice

The Royal Marines aptitude test is the Defence Aptitude Assessment, the same six sections the Royal Navy uses. It checks whether you can cope with the technical side of training. It is not the commando course.

  • You are tested on verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, work rate, spatial reasoning, electrical comprehension and mechanical comprehension. Each section is timed and multiple choice.
  • You can take the real assessment at home after you apply, or at an Armed Forces Careers Office. Practise each section on its own, then sit them in order.
