Army aptitude test practice
If you are joining as a soldier, the computer ability test is the Army Cognitive Test. The Army also calls it Verifier. It used to be called the BARB. Everyone sits it, and your score affects which jobs you can go for.
- This site does not reproduce the Army Cognitive Test. The timed questions here are the Defence Aptitude Assessment, which the RAF, the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines sit.
- The verbal, numerical and spatial sections below are for getting used to a clock. They are not the Army's questions. Without a grade 4 to 9, or A to C, in GCSE maths or English, you may also sit a literacy and numeracy test. Some technical roles have a further test. Officer selection is separate.
- Joining the RAF, Royal Navy or Royal Marines instead? You can sit the full practice test.
